Our History

​Founded in 1980, The Capital Club is a registered 501(c) nonprofit organization.

 

Membership is limited to 100 individuals and is offered by invitation only.

 

The Club was founded by a small group of Washingtonians who sought to integrate premier social events with impactful philanthropic work. Since its genesis, the Club has fulfilled its philanthropic goals by hosting several annual, signature events which have become mainstays of Washingtonian society & extremely popular philanthropic parties.

 

 

 

 

Our Mission

 

Central to our mission, The Capital Club of Washington, D.C. has proudly achieved and maintained status as a nonprofit 501(c) organization.

During our 40 years of existence, The Club has made a commitment to supporting charities and causes of local and national importance.

 

The Club most notably supports the One Love Foundation as well as the Trey Lefler Memorial Scholarship Fund, which benefits students at Sewanee: The University of the South.
